Dear Dr Sana ,
Your persistance is appreciable. I have prsonally no knowledge about FCPS examination system.Ther is no quetion about the sparse use of this forum. I think there are only few doctors using it. Docosma is doing an excellent job And his patience & courage needs to be appreciated. Some of the responses poted( mostly from those living abroad) serve little purpose other than needless negative criticism to the point of ridiculing the existing conditions in Pakistan.. Under such circumstances a positive approach with mutual appreciation, cooperation & hard work is needed. There may be limitation in resources but human factors should never be underestimated. Please do not get frustrated. Be courageus ,determined and honest in your pesuit to further your knowledge & skills in medicine & to help the ailing humanity. We should also try yo get more doctors to know about this forum.
Sorry to drift from your original quetion. Try this link. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply but the fact is that with unpredictability of the visa situation, US is not an ideal location to be and UK maybe for sometime .... So its also wise to keep your position secure in your homeland I know its hard for a doctor but thats the way it is .
BTW the link that u gave was for FCPS 2 training not part 1 .

hello dear dr. sana!
it is first time for me to open this web sit. unfortunately i am not good enough in computer skills. but so for as your part I is concerned i think i can help u a lot. because in this old age i did it in first attempt. kindly just let me know which speciality u r appearing and when.
any way few tips are
read one book ten times instead of reading ten different books. whatever u read must must discuss with ur seniors who have done this. for physiology BRS series and illustrated physiology are very brief but wonderful books. for pharma read lipponcot. just reply me to ensure that u got this then we can continue.
good luck. may God help u

cpsp has an official site
www.cpsp.edu.pk
regarding books there r so many books that are available in the markets.most of the candidates find BRS most helpful
for medicine and allied
anatomy and neuro anatomy.BRS
physiology.BRS
pharmacology.lippincott
pathology .BRS
microbiology.Javettz(summary at the end)
medicine.only selective topic as most of the questions r related to the basics
after completing these u cud always find kaplan Qbook Q bank useful for MCQs. also theres a book called MURAD which is useful
wat else anybody want to know?

well, america is not a good option nowadys as it is difficult to get residency even after securing above 90%,,,as for britain the situation is so bad that about 3 to 5 thousand overseas doctors are residing without job there nowadays,so many drs now are opting for fcps.
i will later post some info about how to prepare for fcps 1 ...

HI THERE, I HAVE TAKEN PART 1 IN RADIOLOGY AND UNFORTUNATELY DIDNT MAKE IT! BUT I PLAN TO APPEAR AGAIN INSHALLAH! I HAD ANATOMY PHYSIOLOGY,PATHOLOGY AND MICROBIOLOGY IN MY PAPER.AND I THINK BRS FOR PHYO. SNELL FOR ANATOMY, BRS FOR PATHOLOGY IS MORE THAN ENOUGH.
BEST OF LUCK

Respected Collegues.... i have also started prepration for part 1 in medicine and allied i asked few people they gave me different advises i think as for as exam point of view is concerned BRS series is very to the point without any extra detail. so it is better to go after BRS series plus lot of practice questions from Qbank and Azeem sheikh... Aagay Allah malik hai. Pray for me as well
Posted by: drmukhtar Posts: 2 :: 16-03-2006 :: | Reply to this Message
I AGREE WITH dr mukhtar and heres my recipe for pt 1 preparation
1.BRS series books
2.Murad PT 1 MCQs book
3. Azeem Sheikh
4. Q bank
5. USMLE series book
6.do maximum MCQs and keep on doing it again and again
7. keep o praying
ps... do think of doing MRCP or some thing else as once you do your part I, you will keep on being tortured by the BABOONS sitting at CPSP for rest of your life
