Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) have a high incidence in our society. In a two and half years 5391 pregnant females were admitted, out of which 1399 delivered after 28 weeks of gestation. GTD was diagnosed in 25 cases, 23 were hydatidiform mole and 2 were choriocarcinoma, giving GTD an incidence of 1 per 176 deliveries or 5.6 per 1000 deliveries. 2/3rd of the patients were below 30 years of age and the major complaint was vaginal bleeding. Most of the patients (60%) belonged to the poor socioeconomic class. Poor follow up was the major draw back seen in this study.
