Pak J Med Res Jan ;41(2):54-7.

Meglumine antimoniate (Glucantime), an anti-leishmanial agent, has been used for the treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis and the efficacy of the intralesional drug against cutaneous leishmanisis was demonstrated. From the data of this study, it was learnt that there was 99% efficacy of intralesional treatment and only 10 ml glucantime was required for a patient, which is cost effective with minimal side effects, and is suitable for endemic areas in developing countries, including Pakistan. However, Intralesional treatment is sophisticated technique, which requires patience and skill.
