Pak J Ophthalmol Jan ;15(4):178-80.

A 28-Year-old man presented in our clinic in March 1996 complaining of a gradual decrease of vision in his left eye over the past three months. There were no systemic complaints. Examination showed a V/A of 6/60 in the left eye. Muscle balance was normal. The anterior segment was unremarkable. Funduscopy showed a raised creamy-yellow lesion in the macular area about one disc diameter from the optic nerve head. It was roughly oval in shape with a horizontal diameter equal to that of the optic disc. The borders were well-defined and fine blood vessels were present over the surface. The temporal border of the lesion showed some pigment proliferation. The remainder of the fundus was healthy. There was no detectable vitreous activity. The right ye was normal. A complete blood examination was carried out. ESR was normal. The only abnormal finding was marked eosinophilia. The patient was given oral prednisolone and mebendazole for one week. After ten days the lesion had shrunk to three-fourths its original size and vision slightly improved to 6/36 (partial). No further improvement has taken place since.
