Suppurative Hidradenitis.

Suppurative hidradenitis is a chronic relapsing inflammatory disease originating in apocrine gland follicles, which may become chronic and often indolent due to subcutaneous extension with induration, scarring, destruction of skin appendages and sinus formation.

CASE REPORT: An eighteen year old girl presented at the dermatology clinic with one year history of recurrent episodes of inflammation and abscess formation in both axilla, and three months history of `feeling` painless lump in her left breast. There was no history of pyrexia. Past history was of no significance. On examination, she was a healthy looking girl. A mass 5 cm in diameter was palpable in the left breast. Overlying skin was normal. In the axillae discharging multiple sinuses with scarring and infected granulomas were seen. No abnormality was detected in any other system. Laboratory investigation were within normal limits. X-ray chest showed no abnormality. The patient was referred to the surgeons.
