Marfan`s Syndrome.

A 38-year-old woman reported to eye department, with gradual deterioration of vision in right eye for the last one year. On examination, she was found to have a subluxated lens superonasally, only in right eye. Vision in left eye was 6/12 with - 5.51) / - 4.513 X 150 glasses. Fundus examination revealed no abnormality and intraocular pressure was normal in both eyes. Physical examination revealed tall stature, narrow shoulders, spider fingers, small mandible, high palatal arch, wrist and thumb sign positive and mild joint hyperextensibility. X-ray chest revealed funnel shaped chest and pectus carinatum. On the basis of the above findings she was diagnosed as a case of MFS. Family history reveals no other case in her parent`s family and their siblings. She has one sister, who has no Marfanoid signs. Eldest daughter of twenty years had myopia of -LOD in both eyes and 6/6 vision. Eldest son, seventeen years of age, had tall stature, long arms, narrow shoulders, pectus excavatum, small mandible, long face, high palatal arch and funnel shaped chest with prominent right side of sternum.
