Evaluation of Anti-HCV Antibodies Among Family Contacts of HCV Related Chronic Liver Disease Patients.
Pak J Gastroenterol Jan ;17(1):27-9.

Review of the history of 300 patients of clinically evident HCV related chronic liver disease revealed that 68 of them (23%) had Anti HCV positive family contacts. Of these, 23/68 (31.8%) were parents, 26/68 (38.2%) were brothers, and 04/68 (5.1%) were spouses. On the basis of this high figure, screening of all household contacts, first degree relatives and spouses is suggested to know more about the prevalence of HCV infection in family contacts of HCV related chronic liver disease.
