Twin Reversed Arterial Perfusion (TRAP)- a Case Report.
Surgimed Med Dent J Jan ;1(2):22-4.

Twin reversed arterial perfusion syndrome (TRAP) is a rare complication in monozygotic twinning. The acardiac twin has 100% mortality whereas the normal twin is at a high risk of perinatal mortality and morbidity due to development of cardiac failure. The occurrence of TRAP can be diagnosed on ultrasonography and Doppler velocimetry. The management is targeted towards close surveillance of occurrence of any complication in normal twin. Specific treatment of TRAP involves occlusion of the vascular anastamosis between the two twins, hence reducing the risk of development of cardiac failure in normal twin.
