Asian J Allied Health Sci Jan ;2(3):23-5.

The uncommon benign ovarian tumor in young age is ovarian cystadenofibroma. It mostly affects women in their middle age. Objective: To determine ovarian serous cystadenofibroma in young female patients on ultrasound. Methods: A case of 28-year-aged female presented with complaints of pain abdomen since last one year. On physical examination her fundal height appeared as pregnancy of 12-14 weeks and firm in consistency on palpation. Ultrasound examination revealed a right sided unilateral complex adnexal cystic mass with internal components in the form of septae. A provisional diagnosis of unilateral complex ovarian cyst was made and planned for laparotomy. The specimen was sent for histopathological examination to exclude that it was benign or malignant. Conclusions: Ovarian cystadenofibroma is a comparatively uncommon benign tumor that is observed among female aged 35-65 years. But it can also be diagnosed in young patients. Sonography is the first line morphologic examination to assess cystic fibroadenoma.
