Is Acute Appendicitis Caused by Salmonellosis an Indication for Surgical Intervention?.

We report a four-year-old boy with bacterial gastroenteritis due to nontyphoidal salmonella that later developed signs of acute appendicitis. Antibiotic treatment with cefotaxime was started and an improvement was seen within a few days without needing any surgical intervention.
