Schwannoma (Neurilemmona) of Facial Nerve (Upper Buccal Branch).

Seventeen year old male patient presented to our out patient with complaint of lump right parotid for the last 2-1/2 years. It was not associated with any other symptoms. Past history and family history is insignificant. On examination there was firm swelling involving superficial lobe of parotid gland. It is was non tender and immovable. There was slight weakness of right side of upper lip. Apart from this, examination of facial nerve was normal. Rest of general physical and systemic examination was normal. He underwent successful superficial parotidectomy. Postoperatively he made uneventful recovery. On examination weakness of right side of upper lip persisted. Biopsy report suggested Schawannoma of Facial Nerve. So we concluded that it was actually schawannoma of upper buccal branch of facial nerve.
