Status of Immunization against Hepatitis B Virus Infection among Health Care Workers.

A cross-sectional study was done among 802 health care workers at Lahore General Hospital, Lahore to assess their vaccination status against hepatitis B Infection. Overall 610 (76.05%) have never been vaccinated, while 192 (23.94%) gave the history of such vaccination, 107 (1334%) have one or more injections but never completed the recommended course. Only 85 (10.59%) of the total subjects completed the course with proper dose schedule but none of them have checked their immune status after such vaccination. Pre-vaccination HBsAg screening was reported by 12 (1.46%) subjects only out of them 11 (91.66%) were negative while 1 (833%) was positive for HBsAg. The highest rate of complete vaccination against HBV infection was seen among the doctors that 3030% of followed by charge nurses 22.03%.
