Rosai-dorfman disease: a case report and review of litterature.
Pak Paed J Nov ;33(1):61-4.

Rosai Dorfman disease is an uncommon benign lymphadenopathy, often confused with lymphomas. Patients usually have massive enlargement of cervical lymph nodes. Clinical course is variable. We report here one such young female child with massive generalized lymphadenopathy . Anitha, a 3 year old girl has presented with fever for 1 week and bilateral massive cervical lymph node enlargement for1 month. She had massive generalized, firm, non-tender and non-matted lymphadenopathy. Her hemogram was normal. A lymph node biopsy showed partial loss of architecture, dilated sinuses filled with histiocytes, which showed lymphocytophagocytosis, anisonucleosis and a clear cytoplasm. The case was managed conservatively after reassurance about benign and self limiting nature of the disease, by a course of antibiotics and corticosteroids, symptomatic treatment and nutritional support.
