Correction of Congenital Ptosis using Silicone Material For Frontalis suspension.

In seven cases of congenital ptosis, frontalis suspension was done using silicone band which is routinely used for encirclement in retinal attachment surgery. No recurrence of ptosis was noted after 1-2 years of followup. Infection at the surgical site occurred in one case and was controlled with systemic antibiotics. The material proved to be inexpensive and effective.
