Atypical Facial Pain; A case report.

Headache and facial pain is a common clinical presentation to a number of treatment providers. Approach to management is usually multidiscipilinary. Atypical facial pain (AFP) is a diagnostic dilemma. It is ill defined intense, deep and constant pain. The pain is usually burning or aching and it is poorly localized and does not follow the normal anatomic pathway of peripheral nerves, typically affecting the middle aged women. The purpose of presenting this case of a middle aged widow is to emphasize the inclusion of AFP in the differential diagnosis of chronic facial pain.
