Misconception about Palliative care.
J Fatima Jinnah Med Coll Lahore Jan ;2(2):55-6.

It is very painful reality that in most of the eastern countries the current patient care delivery system is deficient in regard to the care of terminally ill. In other words, good care of the dying patients is not the central goal of most of the hospitals. Expertise in pain management is often not available to patients. The cardinal function of palliative care is to provide comfort care to the patients by focusing on relieving symptoms such as pain and anxiety. Sometimes, the methodology of palliative care and euthanasia looks similar but palliative care is quite different from euthanasia.
