The Effect of Mother Education upon Nutritional Status of Children under four years of age (One Thousand Mothers Based Study).

The malnutrition was described thousands of years ago, in medical history. The nutritional status plays vital role to prevent infectious diseases. The weight for age is easy and sensitive parameter for nutritional status assessment which was adopted in this study which was cross sectional and sample was taken by continuous quota sampling. The WHO weight for nutritional assessment chart was used. The data collected by questionnaire Performa was converted on data master sheet and analyzed statistically. The parameter of mother education was studied. It was found that illiterate mothers have 52.38% malnourished children but the secondary school educated was having 24.20% malnourished children. It is suggested that female must be educated at least up to secondary school level to build up a healthy nation.
