Fine needle aspiration (FNA) with a modified technique - analysis of 100 cases.
Pak J Pathol Jan ;8(4):28-31.

A study of fine needle aspiration (FNA), done with only needle and without negative suction pressure, was carried out at histopathology department CMH Kharian. The aspirates were from the lumps in breasts, thyroid nodules, lymph nodes, salivary gland lesions and some abdominal masses. The gross appearance of the aspirate and its efficacy were also analyzed. There was one false positive and three false negative results whereas in six cases the lesions were labeled as suspicious. The material obtained by this technique was found to be adequate for diagnosis with added advantage of easiness of technique, negligible mixing with blood and less trauma. No complication was observed by this technique.
