Pak J Pathol Jan ;9(4):9-13.

Breast carcinoma is one of the commonest malignant tumours in females. This study was carried out on mastectomy specimens to document the status of histological prognostic features in our population. A total of 100 cases were included in this study. The mean age at presentation was 48 Years. The tumour size was greater than 5 cm in 61% of cases. There was only one case of intraductal carcinoma and 93% were invasive ductal carcinomas. Only 6% were grade I tumours. Lymph node metastases were seen in 79% of case. We conclude that breast carcinoma is seen in younger age group and presents with adverse histological features in our population.
