Biliary ascariasis with previous stent in a 50 years lady.
Pak Armed Forces Med J Jan ;61(2):314-6.

Biliary ascariasis is commonly reported from highly endemic regions like the Far East, India, Latin America and some parts of the Middle East1-3 . Predisposing factors for biliary ascariasis include previous cholecystectomy, sphincterotomy or even prolonged fasting4 Diagnosis is made primarily through direct microscopic examination of eggs in the stool, duodenal, or bile contents. Radiological imaging may show intrahepatic ductal dilatation, whereas endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography can be used diagnostically and therapeutically.5 Recognition of this disease is facilitated by the liberal use of ultrasonography and ERCP. Included in our case report are the peculiar features of 13 worms and their association with stent and an intact gallbladder.
