Rosai-dorfman disease involving lymph nodes of head & neck.

Rosai-Dorfman disease is an idiopathic histiocytic proliferative disorder characterized by sinus histiocytosis and massive lymphadenopathy Extranodal involvement has also been reported. We report the case of a 9 yr old boy who presented with fever, bilateral neck swelling and weight loss. His cervical lymph node biopsy revealed Rosai-Dorfman disease. Rosai-Dorfman disease can mimic other childhood conditions including Langerhans cell histiocytosis and Lymphoma. As in this case, its typical presentation includes bilateral symmetrical painless cervical lymphadenopathy.
