Premature Rupture of Membranes:Management and Outcome.
Mother & Child Jan ;36(1):4-13.

A randomized control%d clinical trial was carried out for a period of one year. Patients with mixed parity and premature rupture of membranes (PROM) at term were included in the study. One hundred patients were allocated to be treated conservatively and hundred actively. The actively treated group was further subdivided into two equal groups depending upon the cervical score. The group with poor cervical score was induced with prostaglandin vaginal tablets and the other group with Oxytocin. Main outcome measures were PROM to delivery interval, maternal and neonatal morbidity and operative delivery rates. Overall complications were reduced in the actively managed group and their rate of operative delivery was not increased.
