Methodological Issues in Transition to Parenthood.
Mother & Child Jan ;13(2):48-51.

The design considerations in marriage and parenthood literature were reviewed. In historical development of the literature, the sample size increased, research design shifted from cross-sectional to longitudinal, interview to standardized scales, and self reported with addition of observer-rated measures. Further, control group was added along with the experimental group. Husbands and wives scores on their relationship were recommended to be examined separately for better interpretation of results.
