Management of Chronic Hepatitis C.

Chronic hepatitis C is a world-wide problem and has been present all over the world and has increased in frequency in past few years. In our country, hepatitis C is very prevalent and has been found in all parts of Pakistan with increasing frequency. In addition to improperly screened blood, unsafe injections have been one of the major source of transmission. Also, sharing of the razors has been frequently found in our country and has been a source of transmission. Mass vaccination also has been noticed to be one of the factors in our country where the high rate of hepatitis C was found in patients older than age 20 and was thought to be due to mass vaccination against small pox. Intravenous drug abusers, commercial sex workers and people involved in high risk activities like acupuncture, tattooing, body piercing and scarring are also victims of this condition. This article describes in detail various treatment modalities available for Hepatitis C.
