Cases of injured persons, which are reported to medicolegal section of JPMC, belong to two major groups viz. Assault and Accident. The three top most causative object of assault in injured persons are hard and blunt object (47.7 %), firearm (9.6 %) sharp edged object (6.9 %) and the remaining injuries are either by mal treatments, human bites and explosives. In cases of accident the most common cause of injury is road traffic accidents (19.9 % ), remaining accidents includes cases of fall, railway accident, factory accident, drowning and burn.
