Occult Spinal Dysraphism: Tethered Cord Syndrome.

During the past 6 years 15 patients with spinal dysraphism, tethered cord syndrome and low lying conus were operated upon at Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur. Patient population was predominantly pediatric. Ten of 15 operative procedures resulted in significant and clinical improvement. 4 patients were unchanged after their operative procedure and 1 patient was worse after operation. 8 operative procedures were done for a thickened filum terminale. 5 procedures were done for lumbosacral lipoma and cord was untethered by removing most of the lipoma. One procedure was done for diastematomyelia.
