A comparative study of endoscopic verses conventional septoplasty: An analysis of 110 cases.

Objective: To compare the postoperative out come of corrected deviated nasal septum with the endoscopic and conventional septoplasty. Study design: A prospective study conducted in 110 patients. Methods: Th is study was conducted in 110 cases of DNS (deviated nasal septum), who were admitt ed in ENT department Baqai Medical University Fatima hospital Karachi and ENT department Layari General Hospital Karachi.between May 2008 to September 2011.Aft er random sampling we divide them into two groups, group A of 55 patients who underwent endoscopic septoplasty while 55 patients of group B were treated with the conventional septoplasty. Results: Out come of all these patients showed signifi cant relief from nasal obstruction (95.5%) head ach (59.1%) & post nasal drip (40%) who underwent endoscopic septoplasty. Conclusion: Endoscopic septoplasty very accurately corrected the posterior deviations and also ended with much less complications postoperatively in comparison with conventional method of septoplasty
