Acetyl Cholinesterase Levels In Patients Suffering From Oral Carcinoma.
J Rawal Med Coll Jan ;3(1-2):17-9.

Decreased levels of serum acetyl cholinesterase have been reported, in various studies, in patients of oral carcinoma. We have studied the level of this enzyme in 60 cases of oral circimoma and in 30 controls. The cholinesterase level was highly significantly decreased in oral cardoma cases as compared to control (p<0.001). This highly significant decrease (p<0.001) was also observed in male as well as female patients as compared with male and female controls. This paper also presents the values of serum cholinesterase in various stages (stage I to IV) of oral carcinoma.
