Pak J Med Res Jan ;41(2):84-7.

A 50 years old lady presented with excessive hair growth on her body, pain and mass in lower abdomen. She was menopausal, had 8 children, her face and her whole body was covered with black coarse hair. There was a complex irregular fixed mass in lower abdomen which corresponded to 18 weeks of gestation. The serum testosterone and urinary 24 hour 17-ketosteroids were raised. It was suspected to be a case of androgen producing tumor. Laparotomy was done. It turned out to be an advanced ovarian malignancy. Biopsies were taken and sent for histopathology. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of malignant lipoid cell tumor of the ovary. These are very very rare tumors, and constitute less than 0.1% of ovarian tumors.
