Foveal damage from firecracker Radiation.
Pak J Ophthalmol Jan ;13(4):127-31.

A 31-year-old male presented to the outpatient department of the Institute of Ophthalmology, Mayo Hospital, Lahore, with a history of high intensity light flash in front of his left eye, while smoking a cigarette containing a firecracker. There was no external injury to his face or eyes. The patient presented with reduced visual acuity and central scotoma in his left eye. Examination during the first week showed clinically suspected macular edema in that eye, which gradually disappeared within three weeks. FFA done eight weeks later showed no abnormality. Later follow-up showed altered pigmentation at the fovea, with loss of foveal reflex, in his left eye. Our conclusion is that his left eye suffered a light-induced foveal damage from radiation of the firecracker.
