Acute Blindness in a Child with Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome (PRES).
Pak Paed J Jan ;40(4):258-60.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy is a clinicoradiological condition with specific features on neuro imaging. It is associated with several medical conditions and characterized by seizures, altered mental status, headache, and cortical blindness. The pathology in PRES is considered to be due to vasogenic brain edema, specifically in the posterior head region and usually fickle with appropriate treatment. Neuro imaging shows diffuse abnormal signal intensities involving predominantly deep white matter of occipital lobes. We report a case of a 6-year-old boy who presented with status epilepticus and cortical blindness.
