Secondary Intraocular Lens Implantation.

In this retrospective study of 29 cases of secondary intraocular lens implantation we analyzed our overall results. Out of 22 patients seven underwent bilateral surgeries. Eighteen (62.07%) implants were in anterior chamber and eleven (37.93%) implantations were in the posterior chamber. The overall postoperative vision was 6/9 or better in 18 eyes (64.28%). Power of glasses preoperatively were +10 diopters and above in 21 cases (75%) and were up to only 2.0 diopters in 22 cases (78.57%) postoperatively. In 20 cases (68.96%) the postoperative vision was same or improved by one to three lines. The secondary intraocular lens implantation is safe and effective method of treatment for aphakic eyes.
