Monitoring Guidelines for the use of Drugs important in dermatological practice.

Many important dermatoses require systemic therapy associated with increased risk of potential toxicities. This review identifies six commonly used systemic drug classes, commonly used in dermatology, that require vigilant and close monitoring for their potential side effects. In this review monitoring guidelines for systemic steroids, retinoids, methotrexate, cyclosporine, dapsone and antimalarials are presented along with their major adverse effects and relevant drug interactions.
