Urticaria Pigmentosa: A case report with review of literature.

A case of urticaria pigmentosa in a three month old child is reported.

CASE REPORT: A three-month-old female was seen at the Dermatology clinic with a history of brown red macules appearing on the trunk since 30 days. There was history of diarrhoea on and off in the past one month. She was the third child an outcome of a normal term pregnancy. On examination she was an active baby. No abnormality was detected in any of the systems. The trunk face and limbs were covered with brown red macules. There was no dermagraphism. Skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of urticaria pigmentosa. Blood CP showed eosinophilia. Parents were reassured that the skin lesions would resolve as the child reached adolescence.
