Pak Oral Dental J Jan ;36(4):549-51.

It is important to predict the surgical difficulty for lower third molar extraction because it facilitates the design of treatment plans and minimizes complications. The aims of this study were to evaluate the clinical and radiographical condition of lower third molar and to develop a suitable scoring system. A total of 40 patients were selected for the purpose of assessment. The participants were told about the purpose of the study and were evaluated clinically and radiographically followed by developing a scoring system. On the basis of this scoring system, one can predict the level of difficulty for third molar extraction, and can be used to formulate a better treatment plan for individual patients.
