Duplication of Uterus: An unusual presentation.
Pak Armed Forces Med J Jan ;52(1):101-2.

A 26 years old lady, married for last four years, was being investigated for secondary infertility. She had an abortion at 7 weeks of gestation about three years ago. Pelvic sonography, earlier performed at a private clinic, was suggestive of a normal uterus with a uterine fibroid posterior to uterine cervix. Ovaries were normal. She was referred to our department for hysterosalpingography (HSG). The procedure was performed with water soluble iodinated contrast medium. No abnormality was seen in vaginal canal and cervix, by the gynecologist during the introduction of cannula into cervix. On introduction of contrast medium, the first film showed a well formed, normal sized pear shaped uterine cavity. Both fallopian tubes were normal with free peritoneal spill of contrast medium on each side. As the injection of contrast was in progress another uterine cavity was outlined. Right fallopian tube of this uterus was opacified, while the other one was not outlined. We repeated sonography in our department, keeping in mind the findings of HSG. On sonography we could see two fully formed uteri, one was anteverted while other one retroverted. Both were having their own normal thickness endometrial echo, which were merging into each other in single cervical canal.
