Clomiphene Citrate as a Useful Agent in Ovulation Induction and Healthy Pregnancy Outcome.

Anovulation is cause of 30-40% of infertility. In this study 100 infertile women were treated with Clomiphene citrate in an individualized and graduated way. Ovulation was successfully achieved in 90 women (90%).Women with high prolactin. FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) or with any other causative factor of infertility were not included in this study. Of the 50 women who achieved pregnancy, 45 (90%) did so at a dose of 150mg for 5 days or less. Five pregnancies (10%) were achieved with higher doses. The incidence of ovulation correlated well with dose of clomiphene citrate. Similarly incidence of pregnancy correlated well with clomiphene citrate therapy in a dose dependent manner.
