Roentgenological study of bone changes and deformities in hands and feet in patients of Leprosy.

The radiological bone changes have been studied in 100 patients comprising of lepromatous (45%), tuberculoid (4%) and mixed (51%) (borderline lepromatous, borderline tuberculoid, dimorphous) types of leprosy. The overall incidence of non specific bone changes is higher (79%) compared to specific bone changes (22%). These were found to have highest incidence in the lepromatous type of leprosy followed by borderline leprosy. Osteoporosis was found in 39% among them 44.4% were of lepromatous type.
