Decrease in newborn Rat liver weight by Maternal Aspirin Ingestion.

This study examined aspirin as a factor in decreased weight gain of developing liver in rats. Oral dose of aspirin 250mg/kg of body weight was administered to pregnant female rats (Sprague Dawley) during different gestational periods. Maximum decrease in newborn body weight was observed in group C in which aspirin was given during second week of gestation.
