Myelography & its diagnostic aspects.

Objective: To assess the type & severity of spinal cord lesion in patients presenting with chronic & sever backache with or without neurological deficit. Design: It is a retrospectively study. Place & Duration Of Study: This study was carried out in the Department of Radiology, Allied Hospital, PMC, Faisalabad from Jan, 1991 to Dec, 1999. Material & Methods: Retrospectively reviewed case records of 1000 patients who under went myelogrpahy from Jan, 1991 to Dec, 1999, all having backache with or without neurological deficit. Special Performa was designed to record a data clinical features & results. All the available results review retrospectively. Results: Out of 1000 patients with spinal cord problem disc prolapse was found in 560 (60% approximately) Tumor 120(9% approximately) Normal 320(31% approximately). Conclusion: Myelography is an invasive but relatively practical procedure for the diagnostic evaluation of spinal cord lesion.
