Awareness of medical research among Allied health care professionals in different clinical settings.

Objective: To determine the awareness of medical research among allied health professionals (AHPs) in public and private clinical settings of Karachi. Methodology: This cross sectional survey on 297 AHPs was conducted in Karachi public and private clinical settings. After pretesting, a self-designed questionnaire was administered. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 21. Results: Out of 297 AHPs, 108(36.36%) were with age range 25 and below. The year of experience was 5 years and below in 183(61.61%). There were 196(66%) females and 101(34%) males. Among all AHPs, 206(69.4%) showed fair level of awareness, 63(21.2%) good level of awareness and 28(9.4%) poor level of awareness. Conclusion: This survey found that most of the AHCPs were having fair level of awareness towards research. They had basic awareness but require improvement and training regarding research.
