Biomedica Jan ;16:36-9.

In this prospective study 1000 cases consisting of 500 cases of coronary artery disease and 500 cases for control purposes were studied to evaluate ear lobe crease as a risk factor coronary artery disease. It was found that 43.2% cases of the coronary artery disease had ear lobe crease opposed to 29.6% in the control group. It was also found that highest prevalence of ear lobe crease in males was found in younger patients as compared to female patients of coronary artery disease. It is suggested that ear lobe crease should be considered as a risk factor for coronary artery disease.
