Since decades, high prevalence of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in the troops deployed either in aid of civil power or during collective training and even when in barracks/camps in the Balochistan is a major issue of concern to the Formation Commanders, General Headquarters and Civil Armed Forces Headquarters. To provide first hand information on habitat of vector, Sandfly, transmission cycle of the disease and thus suggesting preventive/control strategies for this menace. An exhaustive epidemiological survey was carried out as a joint venture by experts form AMC and DESTO; and has been out-lined.
