Coronary Stenting in symptomatic myocardial bridging: Case Report and review of literature.
Pak J Cardiol Jan ;15(1):44-9.

Myocardial bridging occurs when a band of cardiac muscle overlies an intramural segment of a coronary artery and appears on an angiogram as a systolic narrowing. The course is usually benign however myocardial ischemia, infarction arrhythmias and sudden death have been reported. Important new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities have become available in the last decade that have greatly contributed in establishing the clinical relevance of myocardial bridging. We report a case of successful coronary stenting of a symptomatic myocardial bridge with favorable long term outcome. This report also reviews the current literature of the functional significance and therapeutic options of this intriguing clinical problem.
