Over all combined effect of various life styles on lipids and lipoproteins levels of CAD patients.
Pak J Pathol Jan ;12(2):27-30.

Many studies have observed the effect of different life style such as cigarette smoking, exercise habit, intake of excessive fatty diet and use of vegetable oil lipids on lipoproteins levels. In contrast to such studies, we observed the combined effect of all these life style in angiographically assessed coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. Study data showed that group using vegetable oil have significant beneficial effect on total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoproteins (LDL) and LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C). All patients and control subjects were ex-smoker. In patients group smoking has significant effect on total high density cholesterol (THDL-C) and HDL3-C in A group when compared with C group. No effect were seen on triglyceride (Tg), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL), VLDL-C and HDL2-C levels. Study concluded that use of vegetable oil play a dominant role in ex-smokers or non-smokers with negative history of exercise and positive or negative history of intake of excessive fatty diet before onset of coronary artery disease (CAD).
