Radiographic findings in Diagnosed Cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

Aim : To determine the radiographic findings in diagnosed cases of pulmonary tuberculosis. Study design: Cross-sectional study Place and duration of study: Department of Medicines, Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana and Khairpur Medical College Hospital Khairpur Mirs from 1st January 2020 to 31st October 2020. Methodology: One hundred and sixty tuberculosis cases of both genders were enrolled. Patient`s age ranges from 20-80 years. Patients detailed demographics age, sex and body mass index were recorded. Chest X-ray was performed to diagnosed diseased complications among all the patients. Results: The mean age was 45.78+-19.73 years with mean BMI 26.22+-14.64 kg/m2. Ninety (56.25%) were females and 70(43.75%) patients were males. Positive sputum smear was in 92(57.5%) cases and was negative in 68(42.5%) cases. Pleural effusion was maximum among 74(46.25%) patients, apical consolidation was found in 68(42.5%) cases and cavitation was observed in 38(23.8%) patients. Conclusion: The most common radiographic results accompanied by hilar lymphadenopathy and cavitation were pleural effusions and consolidations.
