Necrotising Fasciitis with Acute Renal Failure secondary to soft tissue infection of the Dental origin.
Pak J Otolaryngol Jan ;20(2):33-5.

Severe soft tissue infection of the neck leading to necrotising fasciitis is a rare condition. Necrotising fasciitis is a severe and potentially fatal infection of the fascia and subcutaneous layers with or without involvement of the skin. Usually the muscles are spared. We present a case of a 45 years old Thai male with soft tissue infection of the left parotid region extending into the neck and leading to necrotising fasciitis. The infection was from an infected dental cyst arising from left upper incisor. The patient subsequently developed septicemia and acute renal failure. Prompt recognition of the more unusual presentation of the disease is necessary to ensure early treatment and to avoid lethal complications.
