Mini-cholecystectomy: An alternative procedure for Cholelithiasis.
Pak Postgrad Med J Jan ;12(3):85-90.

Conducted at three tertiary care centers in Lahore, and spreading over a period of three years: commencing January, 1998 through January, 2001, a study in retrospect, of 513 patients, amply established the practicability and efficacy of mini-cholecystectomy as an effective, safer, cheaper and more readily available alternative procedure. Exemplifying a definite improvement upon other procedures, in limiting conditions, mini-cholecystectomy denotes suitable duration in surgery, smaller complication rate, lesser analgesic requirement, quicker recovery, excellent cosmetic results, and relative cost-effectiveness: to say the least. The study thus concluded, beyond doubt, that mini-cholecystectomy was a valid and safer procedure for cholelithiasis.
