Med Channel Jan ;10(2):63-4.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of diclofenac sodium (NSA1D) on Crown-rump length of Immature Albino rats. DESIGN: An animal study carried on experimental immature Albino rats. SETTING: An animal study carried out in the Department of Anatomy, Basic Medical Sciences Institute (BMSI), Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi, from 2001 to 2002. METHOD: Diclofenac sodium was administered to male immature albino rats at a close of 2 mg/kg/body weight orally once daily, for two weeks. Crown rump length measured in centimeters (cm) with measuring tape weekly, i.e. before starting the experiment, after one week and on day 14. Was compared with those in the control animals and analyzed statistically. RESULTS: The study revealed that diclofenac sodium administration inhibits crown-rump length (CRL) of immature albino rats. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that diclofenac sodium inhibits growth of immature albino rats.
