Pseudoaneurysm in a patient with Coarctation of Aorta - A case report.
Pak J Cardiol Jan ;15(2):79-81.

A 17 year old boy presented with chest pain and headache. The patient suffered from typhoid fever 5 years ago. The major clinical findings were upper and lower limbs, radio femoral delay and a loud continuous murmur in the upper chest and back. On X-ray chest there was an atypical round shadow involving the proximal descending thoracic aorta, with typical rib notching which is characteristic of coarctation of aorta. On color Doppler the coartation of aorta was confirmed. The patient underwent thoracic aortic angiogram to localize the site of coarct. On angiogram, a calcific pseudo-aneurysm was demonstrated in the proximal segment of descending thoracic aorta near the arch. The patient was referred to the surgeons and underwent resection of the aneurysm, release of the coarctation and aortic repair with a Dacron patch.
